Paddle Into the Golden Hour
There’s a particular quality to evening light on the water — warm, unhurried, and gone before you’re ready. The Golden Hour Sunset Tour is a 2-hour guided sea kayak along Saturna Island’s spectacular south shoreline, timed to put you on the water as the sun begins its descent.
Glide past weathered sandstone formations as the light turns amber and the ocean settles into its evening calm. As the sun lowers, silver sparkles dance across the water, casting shifting light shows onto the sea-sculpted sandstone — a show that changes with every ripple. Routes are chosen on the day to suit sea conditions and your group’s comfort level, so every outing is a little different — and always unhurried.
This is a tour for people who appreciate the quieter side of the ocean. Watch for seabirds heading to roost, seals surfacing nearby, and the slow drama of a Gulf Islands sunset unfolding around you.
What’s Included
- Sea kayak, paddle, and all safety gear

- Long-sleeve non-cotton or quick-dry shirt and pants

- Sun hat or cap with retainer
- Phone or camera in a waterproof pouch

We had a sunsetacular kayak. We loved the support from Ruth (we are not kayakers but wanted to experience the water and coastline in the unique light). We were challenged just right and able to enjoy the experience. We saw beautiful tofoni, a seal and enjoyed Ruth’s relaxing informative chat about Saturna and all things kayaking.
